Lead Packaging Tech and Assistant Brewer
We are looking to add to our team at Orono Brewing Company with the position of Lead Packaging/Assistant Brewer. We opened in 2014 and have grown to around 4000bbl of annual production. The bulk of the focus will be on running our A.B.E. LinCan 35 canning line (with depalletizer, twist rinse and in-line labeler). Brewing shifts will be on a roughly bi-weekly basis on our 20bbl steam system. The right candidate could also spend time at our 4bbl facility where we barrel age and test batch. The bulk of our production is IPA heavy, but we also produce a wide variety of styles such as Kolsch, Fruited Kettle Sours, Stouts, and mixed fermentation and barrel aged beers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-Responsible for a wide variety of tasks involved in packaging beer with a focus on quality and efficiency while strictly adhering to standard operating procedures.
-A focus on taking lead on running and directing operations on canning line and kegging. Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform maintenance and repairs to brewery equipment with a heavy focus on the canning line and associated packaging equipment.
-Responsible for keeping inventory on all packaging goods (cans, case flats, labels, pak-techs, kegs etc).
-Cellar operations such as transferring, carbonating, vessel and canning line CIP, filtering and packaging.
-Brewing-Ability to execute recipes and follow brewing SOP’s on a 20bbl steam brewhouse to maintain consistency in final product.
-Capacity to multi-task and prioritize tasks and a desire to stay busy while at work and find tasks to do when one is not specifically assigned.
-Professional canning/packaging & brewery experience is preferred.
-Forklift certification is preferred.

-Full time hourly with health benefits. Rate of pay will depend on experience, but will range from $16-$20 hourly.
