Job Title: Packaging Technician

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

-Responsible for a wide variety of tasks involved in packaging beer and seltzer with a focus on quality and efficiency while strictly adhering to standard operating procedures. 

-A focus on operating and directing operations on the canning line, and kegging product on a daily basis. Additional shifts of keg cleaning and mix pack making.

-General cleaning tasks will be part of daily work.

-Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform maintenance and repairs to brewery equipment with a heavy focus on the canning line and associated packaging equipment.

-Responsible for assisting in keeping inventory on all packaging goods (cans, case flats, labels, pak-techs, kegs etc) and reporting any discrepancies and inventory needs.

-Capacity to multi-task and prioritize tasks and a desire to stay busy while at work and find tasks to do when one is not specifically assigned. 

Qualification Requirements:

-Professional brewery experience is not required

-Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn maintenance and operation of new machines is required

-Must be able to safely operate a forklift once trained. Certification can be provided by Orono Brewing.

-Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, with the ability to operate company vehicles.

-A commitment to caring about the beer as much as we do, and to have a good time while doing so.

Work Environment:

-Must be able to maintain a safe, clean and efficient work area

-Physical ability to safely move required brewery items such as full kegs, grain bags & full pallets.

-A desire to work collaboratively and an ability to communicate clearly with all members of the team.

-Must be able to operate a forklift, pumps, and other brewing machinery in a safe and respectful manner.

-A willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, late nights, and occasional weekends.
